Young Summer 2024 is back: discounts of up to 90% on public transport for young people

The Summer Youth program, scheduled to be approved on June 4, will allow thousands of young people to explore Spain and Europe at very affordable prices.

More than 4 million trips in 2023 with the Verano Joven program

Last summer, the Verano Joven program registered great success with more than 4 million trips between June 15 and September 15, 2023.

More than 2 million young people registered in the program and 1.13 million of them used the discounts to travel.

What discounts will there be in 2024?

The Summer Youth 2024 program discounts will be similar to last year:

  • 90% in conventional medium-distance and metric gauge railway services.
  • 50% in Avant, high speed (AVE, Avlo, Ouigo and Iryo) and regular buses of state competition.
  • 50% on the Global Flexible Interrail of 10 days in 2 months (sold through Renfe).

How to request the Young Summer discounts?

In order to benefit from the discounts of the Verano Joven 2024 program, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Have Spanish nationality or from a country of the European Union.
  • Have legal residence in Spain.
  • Having been born between January 1994 and December 2006.

The application process will be carried out through an online form on the website of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.

Once registered, you will receive a personal and non-transferable code that you must use to buy discounted tickets on the websites of the different transport operators.

When can the Young Summer discount be requested?

The Summer Young 2024 program is expected to come into effect starting July 1 and ending August 31. The application form is expected to be available from June 4, after the Council of Ministers approves the program.
