Works Line 2 Metrovalencia: Interruption of the Metrovalencia Service between Paterna and Llíria

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has announced the suspension of the Metrovalencia service between Paterna and Llíria stations on line 2, from March 28 to April 8. This interruption is due to the works at the Fuente del Jarro station, where the construction of a new stop and the duplication of tracks will be carried out.
How long will the works on Metrovalencia Line 2 last?
The works on the Paterna – Lliria section of Metrovalencia Line 2 begin today, March 28, 2024 and have a scheduled completion date of April 8, 2024.
What stops will there be buses for this trip?
FGV has implemented an alternative bus service with two different routes depending on the destination, except in some stops such as La Vallesa, Entrepins, El Clot, Montesol and Fondo de Benaguasil.
To facilitate access to these buses, two different routes have been established:
- The first will have stops in Paterna, Santa Rita, Fuente del Jarro, La Canyada and L’Eliana,
- The second will connect Paterna with L'Eliana, Gallipont-Torre del Virrei, La Pobla de Vallbona, Benaguasil and Llíria.

In addition, during this period, the Metrovalencia night service, scheduled for Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of holidays, will conclude in Paterna.
Where do you catch the bus at the affected stops?
At these stops, buses can be caught at the following locations:

Remember that to transfer between bus routes you have to go to L’Eliana:
- Passengers leaving from Santa Rita, Fuente del Jarro or La Canyada and wishing to continue their trip to Llíria, must transfer to bus 2A in L’Eliana**.
- Those travelers arriving from Llíria, Benaguasil, La Pobla de Vallbona or Gallipont-Torre del Virrei and want to go to Santa Rita, Fuente del Jarro or La Canyada, will have to transfer to bus 1B in L'Eliana**.

Why are there works on Metrovalencia Line 2?
The objective of these works is to improve the frequency in the section between Paterna and Llíria since for a long time there was great criticism of the lack of service in these towns.
In that sense, the average frequency of this section was around 30/40 minutes waiting time between metro and metro and it is expected that with the works and the expansion from 1 to 2 tracks the waiting time can be reduced to 15 /20 minutes.
