Work on the Torrent - Castelló section of Metrovalencia Line 1 begins today, 3rd July 2023, and is due to finish on 31st August 2023.
Therefore, it is expected that the works will last only these 2 summer months in order to have the service ready and improved with the "back to school" in September.

Metrovalencia has confirmed that not all the stops on this section will have bus service to replace the metro and that this transport alternative will only be available in Torrent, Picassent, Alginet, Carlet, L'Alcúdia, Alberic and Castelló.

The aim of these works is to improve the frequency on the section from Torrent to Castelló, as for a long time there was a great deal of criticism about the lack of service in these towns.
In this sense, the average frequency of this section was around 40 minutes of waiting time between metro and metro and it is hoped that with the works and the extension from 1 to 2 tracks the waiting time can be reduced to 15/20 minutes.
