History of line 9 Metrovalencia
The Metrovalencia line 9 route begins at the Alboraia Peris Aragó station and ends at the Ribarroja del Turia station. It is planned to extend this line to Villamarchante in a future extension. The opening of this line allowed the residents of Ribarroja del Turia to recover the direct train service to Valencia, which had been lost in 2005. The section between Roses and Ribarroja was inaugurated on March 6, 2015, and the València La Vella was inaugurated on July 31, 2018.
This line is an extension of the route that goes to Valencia Airport. Since the Aeropuerto station is located under the regional terminal and is underground, it is separated from the route in Roses and follows the old railway from Valencia to Liria de Renfe, which was dismantled. Before its closure, this railway was used by the C-4 line of Cercanías Renfe.
